Use Case

Menu boards that update themselves

Connect your POS once and every menu screen stays right: prices revise the moment your POS does, sold-out dishes disappear on their own, and veg/non-veg markers render correctly, from one café TV to a multi-city chain.

A digital menu board is a screen that displays a restaurant's menu from a central content system, so items and prices update instantly across every display, often synced directly from the point-of-sale system instead of being edited by hand.

How it works

Setting up digital menu boards with Digisigns

  1. 1

    Pair your screens

Install the free player app on any Android, Windows, Samsung Tizen or LG webOS screen and enter the pairing code the TV shows. Eight platforms are supported, plus a browser player.

  2. 2

    Connect your POS

Link Petpooja, POSist, UrbanPiper, Square or any of 12 supported POS systems, or import a CSV. DigiMenu pulls in items, prices, sizes and diet markers.

  3. 3

    Design the board

Start from a template or lay out your own: size-price columns, veg/non-veg markers and Hindi or Tamil rendering are built in.

  4. 4

    Publish and forget

Assign the board to one screen or every outlet. On a POS-connected board, price changes and stock-outs flow through automatically; daypart rotations run on the platform's schedules.

What makes Digisigns good at digital menu boards

12 POS integrations by name

Petpooja, POSist (Restroworks), UrbanPiper, Rista, GoFrugal ServeEasy, DotPe, LimeTray, Ciferon, TMBill, Dynamics 365, Square and CSV, plus a Menu Feed webhook any system can post to.

Sold-out items auto-hide

When your POS marks an item out of stock it drops off every published board automatically, and returns when it's back.

Size-price columns and diet markers

Half/Full and Regular/Large variations become tidy price columns; veg, non-veg, egg and jain markers map straight from POS data, never guessed.

Scheduled menu flips

Schedule breakfast, lunch and dinner as separate published boards on daily, weekly or custom recurrence, the platform switches them on time, no ladder required.

QR menus and print from one source

The same menu powers on-screen boards, hosted QR mobile menus and print-ready PDF exports with bleed and crop marks.

FSSAI advisor for Indian outlets

An advisory checker flags missing diet markers, regulated claims and licence visibility before they become a problem.

How POS-synced menu boards work

DigiMenu keeps a live copy of the menu inside the POS you already run, 12 systems by name, from Petpooja to Square. Push-capable POS systems send changes the moment they happen; the rest sync on demand. The merge is safe by design: your on-screen edits are never overwritten, and items dropped by the POS are hidden rather than deleted, so a re-sync never wrecks a board. Menus render with size-price columns, structured veg/non-veg markers and proven Hindi and Tamil text.

Screens run the free Digisigns player on Android, Windows, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS and four more platforms. Publish once and every board in every outlet shows the same menu, with proof-of-play logs to confirm it.

One menu, every surface

The board above the counter is only the start. The same menu generates hosted QR menus for tables, print-ready PDF exports with bleed and crop marks, and feeds self-ordering kiosks on the same platform. Promo content runs beside it: schedule combo videos for the lunch rush, sync a wall of screens behind the counter, or keep a waiting-area TV on brand while orders are prepared. Plans start at $20 per screen per month with a 14-day free trial.

Digital Menu Boards FAQs

Which POS systems can a digital menu board sync with?
DigiMenu integrates with 12 POS systems by name: Petpooja, POSist (Restroworks), UrbanPiper, Rista (DotPe), GoFrugal ServeEasy, DotPe, LimeTray, Ciferon, TMBill, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Square and CSV import, plus a generic Menu Feed webhook any other system can post a menu to.
Do menu prices update on screen automatically?
Yes. Eight of the 12 POS integrations push changes the moment they happen in the POS; GoFrugal, Dynamics 365 and Square sync on demand, and CSV is a manual import. Your own edits in the editor are never overwritten by a sync.
Can I show a different menu at breakfast and lunch?
Yes, with scheduling: publish each daypart as its own playlist or layout on a daily recurring schedule, and screens flip between them at the times you set. Note the distinction: a live POS-synced DigiMenu board shows one assigned design that stays continuously current; daypart flips are handled by the platform's scheduler switching between published boards.
What hardware do digital menu boards need?
Any Android, Windows, Linux, macOS, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS or ChromeOS screen runs the free player, and NovaStar LED is supported for large-format boards. Most restaurants use commercial Android displays or the TVs they already own.
How much does digital menu board software cost?
Digisigns starts at $20 per screen per month ($220 per year), with a 14-day free trial on every plan and no credit card required.
